About Me
Monica Hutchinson is a highly accomplished executive chef, private chef and culinary producer. She travels around private islands and cays in The Bahamas, where she caters to high-net-worth clients and celebrities. As a culinary producer, food stylist, recipe developer, and blogger she is a Macgyver of sorts for the Bahamas food scene. Notable past production work includes serving as a culinary producer for the Top Chef All-Stars finale in the Bahamas, Rescue Chef on Food Network, and Simply Southern on CMT.
Originally based in New York, Monica has styled food for television, print, and web for over ten years, working with prominent chefs such as Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray, and Stephanie Izard to name a few. Rising through the Chicago food scene, she had the opportunity to work with Chef Giuseppe Tentori, acclaimed as Best New Chef by Food and Wine Magazine in 2008, and Executive Chef at Michelin-starred BOKA.
Monica also serves as the executive chef and curator at Mesa Ceniza, an exclusive 20-seater venue where she crafts extraordinary open-fire dishes and experiences. At Mesa Ceniza, she combines local ingredients with innovative cooking techniques, including making her own coals from casuarina trees, to deliver a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Additionally, Monica has enhanced the local food scene through her successful executive chef consulting at Baha Mar and other independent venues.
